A hound is curious, hardworking and tenacious, loyal, joyful and resilient - and has an uncanny knack for smelling out good humans. That's HOUND Productions. The company is dedicated to supporting talented writers and filmmakers in bringing their unique voices and ideas to fruition. Without you, we wouldn’t exist. Kind of like man’s best friend.
HOUND is currently producing shows for multiple streaming platforms and studios in the US; partnering with Campside Media on a podcast adaptation; working with a diverse slate of exceptionally talented writers and filmmakers; is partnered with Carolyn Strauss on selected projects and on two films with producer Gary Foster.
After more than a decade as a creative leader and producer at both big and small studios, Kate launched HOUND.
Previously she was the Chief Creative Executive at SISTER LA, working for Stacey Snider to establish the US arm of the company. During her tenure she built the LA TV slate from the ground up, overseeing all scripted development, setting up shows at Netflix, Hulu, HBO, FX, Apple, Peacock and Sky, and producing Dan Levy’s film GOOD GRIEF for Netflix.
As SVP of Development at Universal Cable Productions she jointly oversaw all scripted development, spearheading projects including: Hulu’s Emmy Award Winning THE ACT from Nick Antosca, Steve Blackman’s adaptation of Gerard Way’s UMBRELLA ACADEMY for Netflix, Alex Cunningham’s DIRTY JOHN for Bravo and USA’s Golden Globe-nominated THE SINNER, written by Derek Simonds and directed by Antonio Campos.
Her first LA gig was Head of Development at Grady Twins Productions under Marti Noxon and Dawn Olmstead, where she produced GIRLFRIEND’S GUIDE TO DIVORCE for Bravo and THE LOTTERY for Lifetime.
Her career started in the highly creative London advertising scene of the 2000s where she ran pan-European accounts for Proctor & Gamble, British Telecom and the UK Government before transitioning to be Head of Marketing, BBC One and Drama, under commissioner Jay Hunt.
From working as a studio executive and a producer.
